Wire Nuts. Wire nuts come in a variety of sizes depending on how many of what size wire you are connecting. Make sure you get the right size; don't plan to use electrical tape to hold the nut in place.
A home improvement store will have hundreds if not
thousands of adapters for going from one kind of fitting to another. The variety of
sizes, materials, thread types etc. is astonishing. There is sometimes someone
around who can help you find the one you need; it helps if you have the old pieces with
you. If you do find what works, buy an extra and tape it in a baggie to the line
where you used it. Then you will have one the next time.
