Mobile Home Renovation
Have you ever looked for books or magazines that offer suggestions for renovating your mobile home? Not much to see, is there? Maybe we can start to change that.
Our experience has been with heavy renovation and/or repair of seriously damaged homes. The kind of projects where you expose the wall studs, rip up the floors and re-do the roof. We have taken pictures before, during, and after the process and will use them to show visitors how their home is built. It’s much easier to approach a renovation project with confidence if you have a good idea what you are getting in to when you start opening things up.
A word of warning. Demolition is great fun! You would not believe how easy it is to get a little carried away when you start. ”Since we have the carpet torn up anyhow…” is very easy to say. Saying it leads to what engineers call “Scope Creep”. The scope of your renovation starts to grow very quickly, both in materials costs and time commitment. I know from my own experience it is very discouraging a week or two later when you look back at what you did and REALLY wish you hadn’t been quite so ambitious with the demolition.
